RV Flooring Repair & Replacement

Repair and replacement of RV subfloor and finished flooring damaged by water, wear, or structural flex.

What this service covers

A complete approach to the repair

RV flooring damage almost always traces back to water first, whether from a roof leak, a slide seal failure, a plumbing leak under a fixture, or moisture wicking up from a damaged underbelly. By the time the finished flooring shows visible warping, staining, or a soft spot underfoot, the plywood or composite subfloor beneath it has usually already started to deteriorate, so we check the subfloor condition before deciding whether a section needs to be replaced or just resurfaced.

We replace damaged subfloor sections with appropriately rated plywood or composite material matched to the original construction, paying particular attention to areas around slide openings, wet bath thresholds, and under major appliances where water problems concentrate. Finished flooring replacement, whether vinyl plank, laminate, or carpet, is done after we are confident the subfloor underneath is solid and dry, since installing new flooring over a compromised subfloor just hides the problem again.

We also address structural flex in the floor near slide rooms and entry steps, which over time can crack finished flooring or loosen fasteners even without a water source, usually from wear at the slide mechanism mounting points or frame flex that needs reinforcement rather than just a flooring swap.

Signs you may need this service

Soft, springy, or spongy spots when walking across the floor

Visible warping, bubbling, or discoloration in vinyl or laminate flooring

Musty odor coming from beneath the flooring

Cracked or lifting flooring near slide openings or the entry steps

Floor flexes noticeably when the slide extends or retracts

Carpet or subfloor stays damp longer than expected after cleaning

How we handle it

  1. 1

    Moisture and subfloor inspection

We probe suspect areas and check moisture levels to determine how far subfloor damage extends beyond the visible surface.

  2. 2

    Remove damaged material

We remove affected finished flooring and cut out compromised subfloor sections back to solid material.

  3. 3

    Replace subfloor

We install appropriately rated plywood or composite subfloor matched to the original construction and structural needs.

  4. 4

    Install finished flooring

We install new finished flooring once the subfloor is confirmed dry and solid, matching material where reasonably possible.

Mobile or in-shop

Flooring replacement requires removing furniture, appliances, or fixtures and working with adhesives and materials that need controlled, dry conditions, so this job is done in our Bushnell shop bay rather than on-site.

Questions we get

We can if the subfloor tests dry and solid, but if there is any softness or elevated moisture underneath, replacing only the surface layer just hides a problem that will resurface later.
