RV Air Conditioning & Heating

Rooftop AC repair, compressor and capacitor diagnostics, ducted airflow fixes, and furnace repair for RVs.

What this service covers

A complete approach to the repair

Central Florida heat means an RV air conditioner is not optional equipment, and it takes a beating running long hours through summer humidity. Common failures include weak capacitors that struggle to start the compressor, low refrigerant from a slow leak, iced-up evaporator coils from restricted airflow, and failed start or run capacitors on older Coleman and Dometic units. We test amperage draw, capacitor values, and coil temperatures to find the actual cause rather than replacing the whole unit when a $30 part will fix it.

Ducted systems bring their own issues: crushed or disconnected flex duct, blocked returns, and balance problems that leave the bedroom cold while the front of the coach stays warm. We check static pressure and airflow at each register to find where a system has degraded, not just at the unit itself.

On the heating side we service both furnace-based forced air systems and diagnose thermostat and control board issues that cause short-cycling or no-heat calls. We also work on ducted heat pump function on units equipped for it, which matters for owners who winter in Florida but still see cool nights.

Signs you may need this service

AC runs but blows warm or barely cool air

Unit trips the breaker or struggles to start, especially on generator power

Ice forming on the evaporator coil or supply lines

Uneven cooling between rooms or weak airflow at certain vents

Furnace clicks but does not ignite, or blows cold air before heating

Unusual rattling, humming, or clicking from the rooftop unit

How we handle it

  1. 1

    Electrical and component test

We check capacitor values, compressor amp draw, and control board function to isolate electrical versus mechanical failures.

  2. 2

    Refrigerant and coil check

We inspect for icing, check refrigerant charge where accessible, and clean coils restricted by dust or debris.

  3. 3

    Ductwork and airflow

We check static pressure and inspect ductwork for crushed, disconnected, or blocked sections affecting distribution.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We replace failed components and run the system through a full cooling or heating cycle to confirm proper operation before sign-off.

Mobile or in-shop

Most AC and furnace diagnostics and repairs are done on-site since the unit is fixed to the roof and ductwork runs through the coach. We bring the tools needed for capacitor, compressor, and control board work directly to your location.

Questions we get

It depends on age and what has failed. A bad capacitor or fan motor is a straightforward repair on most units, but if the compressor itself has failed on an older unit, replacement is usually the more sensible option.
