Cabinetry & Interior Woodwork

Repair, refinishing, and replacement of RV cabinetry, drawers, and interior woodwork damaged by road wear or water.

What this service covers

A complete approach to the repair

RV cabinetry takes a different kind of abuse than home cabinetry, absorbing constant vibration from road travel, drawer slides that work loose over thousands of miles, and hinges and catches that fatigue over time. We repair loose face frames, broken drawer slides, and cabinet doors that no longer latch securely during travel, which is as much a safety issue as a cosmetic one when contents can shift or spill.

Water-damaged cabinetry, usually from a nearby plumbing leak, roof leak, or slide seal failure, often needs partial or full replacement of affected panels since particleboard and MDF cores common in RV cabinet construction swell and lose structural integrity once they have taken on water. We assess whether refinishing and repair is realistic or whether the affected section needs to be rebuilt, and we are upfront when water damage extends further into a cabinet run than it first appears.

For owners updating the interior look of an older coach, we also handle refacing, refinishing, and hardware upgrades, matching stain and finish where possible, though we are honest that exact matches to discontinued RV manufacturer finishes are not always achievable and discuss realistic options before starting.

How we handle it

  1. 1

    Assess damage and cause

We inspect affected cabinetry and check for a water source nearby if damage looks moisture-related rather than purely wear-related.

  2. 2

    Repair or rebuild decision

We determine whether panels can be repaired and refinished or need to be rebuilt due to swelling or structural loss.

  3. 3

    Structural and hardware repair

We repair or replace face frames, drawer slides, hinges, and catches, and reinforce mounting points as needed.

  4. 4

    Finish and match

We refinish or replace panels, matching stain, laminate, or hardware as closely as reasonably available.

Mobile or in-shop

Cabinet repair and refinishing work involves materials, clamping, and finishing that need a controlled shop environment, so this work is done in our Bushnell shop bay for the best results.

Questions we get

Sometimes, if the water exposure was limited and caught early, but particleboard and MDF cores common in RV cabinets often swell permanently once soaked, so we assess case by case rather than assuming either outcome.
